SAN to UIO

Larry, Bill, and I met at the commuter terminal at 4:30 AM and headed for Quito by way of Los Angeles and Miami. On the LAX to Miami leg there were some ticket adjustments, and we wound up with three bulkhead seats together. Lots of legroom. In Miami we decided to pass up the airplane food and had a good meal before we boarded. We arrived around 10 PM and were were met by Juan Prinz, my Global Grant counterpart, who stayed to wait for David’s arrival, and by Juan Prinz who is organizing much of the week’s events. A beer downstairs at the Hotel Sebastian and off to bed and a visit to the town of Cuenca in the morning.
