I’m John Fistere, controls systems engineer, retired from Solar Turbines Incorporated, and Executive Director, retired from the Prostate Cancer Research and Education Foundation.
These days I’m active in the Rotary Club of La Mesa, where I am the the “International Service Chair”, and in the San Diego Festival Chorus. I also read the newspapers for the visually handicapped over KPBS’s Radio Reading Service. Check out the links. You may find them interesting. I’ve also been taking guitar lessons, but I’m not quite ready for prime time.
My somewhat under-maintained website is at http://members.cox.net/jfistere.
I received an engineering degree from Yale, with a very interesting Junior year at the University of Beirut, Lebanon along the way.
My wife, Teresa and I live in the San Diego area, with our two dogs, Kim, an Australian Cattle Dog, and Rusty, an Australian Shepherd.
I have two daughters Jennifer and Jessica, who live on the East Coast and are doing very well.
We like to travel, sail, sing, read, go to the theater, among other activities. I play NL Texas Hold’Em. My engineering career involved programming, and I now consider myself a “recreational programmer” and keep a project or two going.
One of my programming projects is the free automatic generation of a graphical one-page medical history from data you enter. For more info, check out http://members.cox.net/jfistere/MultiGraphIntro.htm.
Cheers,
John

I”m really glad you enjoyed the blog. I visited Forest Hills HS about 10 years ago, and I was glad to see that it was still thriving. I hope you are too.
I picked up your blog from the classmates site. You’ve written very interesting thoughts. I obviously am also a FHHS grad c67 and I am alway glad to read about an accomplished and successful graduate from FHHS. Looking forward to your continued “Ramblings”.
